Become a Board Member

Do you want to make a difference and have fun at the same time? Join the VSHA executive board! Conferences are free and milege/expenses are reimbursed.

Our executive board meets every other month via interactive TV at a site near you! We typically have a meeting that lasts 1.5 to 2 hours in the early evening. We have an annual meeting for our membership in the Fall or Spring usually at a conference. Then we have a full day meeting in the winter (January) and summer (usually June). In between those times we use email to communicate about questions and ongoing work we are doing.
We hope you will join the Vermont Speech-Language Hearing Association Board in its efforts to make your profession stronger in our state.

ASHA member networks

State Advocates for Reimbursement (STAR) Network
STARs are ASHA-member audiologists and speech-language pathologists who are willing to advocate locally for consistent coverage and equitable reimbursement rates by private payers for speech-language pathology and audiology services.  Vermont's STAR is: Moira Mulligan (SLP) moira.mulligan@uvm.edu

Medicare Intermediary and Carrier State (MICS) Network
MICS representatives monitor the local Medicare contractors' speech-language pathology and audiology policies. Members collectively review Medicare draft local coverage determinations (LCDs) to help develop rationales for accepting or revising coverage requirements. Vermont currently does not have a MICS representative. If you are interested, contact VSHA's president at President@VSHA.us
